General Event Planning Advice from Cosmic Entertainment
Book
your event far, far ahead. Dates fill up quickly & randomly,
especially in the peak months of April, May, June, and December;
And good DJs in high demand book up far ahead of other DJs.
•
Always have lots of prizes
& giveaways at kid-themed parties, if not most events.
I can't express enough the entertainment & motivational
value of giveaways, party favors, props, prizes, etc. at parties,
especially those with games. We will provide these for you
in increments of $50, ($50, $100, $150, etc.) if you would
like them. Items include various mixes of hats, leis, sunglasses,
maracas, and glow products. Special items are available by
early, prepaid request.
• Hire only vendors you like personally. It matters
a lot as you deal with them prior to your event. Do not tolerate
vendors who neglect to acknowledge or return your calls &
emails. You are better off without them.
• At your event, always seat older guests as far from
the DJ as possible; seat youngest guests closer to the DJ.
What older guests consider too loud, younger guests may consider
too tame.
•
Seriously consider if you want very young children
at your formal event. With all due sensitivity, experience
has shown me time and again how truly easily a few unleashed
kids can dominate a dance floor or entire event.
•
Arrange for your vendors to be fed at your event.
Not only is it usually the norm, but it is considerate and
classy, and saves the vendors & you from embarrassment
& inconvenience.
•
Keep the lines of communication between you
& your vendors constantly open, free-speaking, and direct.
Submit your info, wishes, and requests early, not late.
